Hello again. This is your Popoyo surf forecast for March 9th-March 15th. Things are finally starting to happen as far as surf goes. Tuesday will be small, but the wave machine gets turned on Wednesday with a medium sized south swell(209 direction) showing up in the morning. This looks to be a good day of surf with light offshore wind and a great swell direction for spots like Popoyo and Colorado. Now for the bad news, the wind will come onshore later in the day on Wednesday and continue to blow onshore until Sunday morning. Monday sees a return of offshore flow and waves in the chest to shoulder high range.
Tuesday 9th- Hard offshores and waist high surf. Be careful all day long, do not get bored and do something stupid and hurt yourself, because you will want to be in tip top shape come Wednesday when the waves and conditions should be great.
Wednesday 10th- Get on it! Solid surf in the head high range. Popoyo should be good. Offshore wind in the 5-10 knot range, but they could turn onshore before dark. Higher tide in the morning with a low tide around 3ish. It is not expected to be a very low tide so it should be really good around lunch time if the wind is still offshore.
Thursday 11th- Still solid surf around head high but with onshore winds.
Friday 12th- Slightly smaller surf and more onshores. Too bad.
Saturday 13th- Shoulder high and junky with onshores.
Sunday 14th- Wake up and enjoy the return of offshore wind. Surf should be waist to chest high.
Monday 15th- New swell in the water with a little more west in it than the last one. 17 knot offshores. Surf should be around chest high with a few bigger ones coming in every now and then. Wind should get lighter as the day goes on.
This time of year the wind should be howling offshore everyday, so I find it a little strange they are calling for onshores. Do not be suprised if some of the days I call for onshores end up being days with periods of offshores. I do this forecast only once per week and my forecast period covers 7 days, so far I have been more accurate than any other surf forecasting site. We have a few more systems developing down in the Pacific this week and there should be more solid swell coming around the 20th of March.
